Don't worry, this article is SPOILER FREE
Well, when it came to scenes that weren't 90% CG.
The Force Awakens does an excellent job at evading both of these trends, with the action reminiscent of the original trilogy, Dogfights in the ships are tense, with enough screenspace to show everything going on. The lightsaber battles go back to being meaningful character interactions, a step up from the prequels that came before it. Those expressions, the way the characters move, it makes a world of difference when it comes to immersion and suspension of disbelief, not to mention it also makes those action scenes not only tense and exciting, but also meaningful and overall enjoyable on an entirely different level.
I don't want to go into too much detail, as I know how many people haven't seen the movie, but I would recommend it to anybody who likes those types of big productions, like MCU movies and the like. Sorry for the shorter length, but it's not easy to talk at length about something without spoiling it. Anyways, happy holidays to all of you, this is your captain, signing off.
